CrossFit Deep Athlete Feature: Keaton Parker

CrossFit Deep athlete, Keaton Parker, celebrated his one year CrossFit anniversary this past May and his hard work has paid off.

Prior to joining CrossFit Deep in March of 2015, Keaton would try a variety of workouts -  mostly weightlifting - to stay active.

“I tried some basic weightlifting before CrossFit and would always end up quitting. It was tough for me to stay motivated because it wasn’t fun.”

Thankfully, Keaton found CrossFit to be fun, challenging, and worth it. This past year Keaton has experienced change both mentally and physically.

“When I joined CF Deep just over a year ago from the recommendation of a good friend, I couldn’t back squat an empty men’s barbell. I weighed 135lbs and struggled with nearly every movement.”

Since then Keaton has gained 25lbs and has seen a night and day improvement in his ability to move through workouts.

“Deep was not only the real beginning of my fitness journey, but my entry into the CrossFit community and it’s been an awesome experience. All of the coaches are helpful, keep me motivated, and help me feel much more confident in my movements.”

Next up on Keaton’s CrossFit bucket list is to string together those infamous muscle-ups! (We know he’ll get those in NO time.)

If you’re looking for Keaton you can find him in the noon or 6:30 PM class. Next time you see Keaton, tell him CONGRATS for all his success - we can’t wait to see what he accomplishes this next year.
