One point I want to highlight is breathing. This article mentions it as a bullet point but doesn't delve into the reasoning. As simple and natural as this function is, proper breathing is rarely practiced during an intense workout. We tend to take shorter breaths primarily by elevating the chest. By ignoring the importance of the diaphragm to breathe fully, we limit a very important energy source. Yoga movements help establish proper breathing patterns which help fire deep abdominal muscles. This ability will translate to more efficient movement, better balance, and better core stability.
