Coaches Notes: Grip is extremely important on the press. When setting your grip for the press, make sure that the bar is positioned on the pad of the thumb. Most people grip the bar too deep into the palm towards the fingers. This places a great amount of strain on the wrist and reduces the amount of power that drives into the bar.
