Well that's not the only thing that can really benefit your training in the gym. Jump ropes are also an extremely worthwhile purchase. Don't worry, we will always have jump ropes at the gym to use, but owning your own is a much better choice. I notice quite a few people struggling with double unders merely because they can't find a rope at the gym that fits them. Having your own means you can cut the chord to the correct length for you.
